A prompt is a short text that you give to LLM to control what it should generate. It can include instructions on format, style, tone and content.
Dr. Sameer Maskey (computer scientist) believes that prompt engineering will one day be similar to learning how to use an Excel spreadsheet, which today is useful in many business units or departments.
The content of the training:
- Prompt engineering basics: we start by looking at the different components of a prompt and how they affect the outcome.
- Creating effective prompts: You’ll learn how to write clear and concise instructions that LLMs can understand.
- Control format and style: We’ll look at how you can use prompts to control the format and style of the generated text content.
- Customize tone and emotion: You’ll learn how to use prompts to create text content with different tones and emotions.
- Advanced techniques:We’ll look at some advanced techniques for using prompts, such as using variables and conditions.
The course material will include lecture notes, exercises and examples. You will need to bring your own computer to participate in the training.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course. However, it is an advantage if you have a basic understanding of how LLMs work. We recommend that you bring a laptop with you.
