Personal data: All kinds of information that directly or indirectly
may be referable to a natural person who is alive.

Specific categories: Data that reveals racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, and personal data concerning health or sex life. Data on health could be, for example, absence due to sickness, pregnancy and doctor’s appointments. It could also be a combination of data that makes it particularly sensitive.

Controller: A person who alone or together with others decides the purpose and means of processing
personal data.

Processor: A person who processes personal data on
behalf of the controller of personal data.

Data protection officer: A natural person, appointed by the person responsible for personal data, who independently ensures that the personal data is processed in a correct and lawful manner.
